M2 HSS 1-1/2″ × 1/4″ Corrugated-Back Knife Bar — 25″

Description

The CB842H6 is a 25-inch M2 molybdenum high-speed steel corrugated-back knife bar, 1-1/2 wide and 1/4 thick, for corrugated-back (CB) moulding and planing heads with 60° corrugation. The 60° corrugated back interlocks with the matching corrugations machined into the head body, providing positive mechanical knife retention that prevents the knife from shifting radially during operation — the standard retention system on Schmidt corrugated-back heads and the most widely used knife-locking geometry in moulder and shaper knife-head design. Bar-length stock is cut to the required knife length for the profile and head configuration in-shop, then ground to the finished moulding profile on a surface grinder. The 1/4 thickness must match the head’s knife slot specification; the 1-1/2 width determines the maximum profile height achievable from this bar. M2 HSS provides improved toughness and abrasion resistance over T1 — the molybdenum alloy is better suited to harder species, abrasive materials, and production moulding environments where T1 edge life is insufficient.
