Description

The ID550T is a 3-wing insert-style flooring cutter for the tongue side of hardwood flooring tongue-and-groove production — 5-1/2-inch OD, 30mm wide, and 1-1/4-inch bore for standard shaper and moulder spindles. The tongue cutter machines the male element of the flooring joint — the protruding tongue that fits into the groove cut by the matched ID550G. Insert-style design allows worn carbide inserts to be rotated or replaced in the field without sending the cutter body out for resharpening, keeping production flooring lines running. The 5-1/2-inch diameter and 30mm width match the ID550G groove cutter for a precision-fitted T&G joint in 3/4-inch hardwood flooring stock. For 1-1/2-inch bore tongue cutters, see ID551T.
