Description
The WC140 is a 4-wing carbide-tipped straight-top grooving cutter for shaper operations — 4-inch OD, 1/8-inch cutting edge length (kerf width), and 1-1/4-inch bore. Straight-top groovers cut flat-bottomed grooves, dadoes, and rabbet shoulders in solid wood and sheet goods on a shaper. The flat-top tooth geometry produces a clean, flat groove floor without the arced bottom that a router bit would leave. At 1/8-inch kerf width, WC140 cuts narrow dadoes for panel grooves, drawer bottom slots, and similar joinery where a thin, precise slot width is required. The 4-wing configuration provides four cutting edges per revolution for a smoother cut at standard shaper speeds. For the same 4-inch OD in wider kerfs, see WC141 (1/4”), WC142 (3/8”), and WC143 (1/2”). For a larger diameter 6-inch groover at similar kerf widths, see WC161-163.
