Description

The Schmidt IR940S3 is a 4-inch 3-wing straight-cutting spoilboard cutter for CNC routers, 1/2″ shank. Spoilboard cutters flatten and resurface the sacrificial MDF or particleboard table surface between production cycles, restoring a level reference plane for accurate hold-down and consistent part thickness. Flat bottom cut leaves a smooth spoilboard surface. Solid carbide construction delivers the wear resistance needed for repeated spoilboard resurfacing passes across abrasive MDF. The 3-wing geometry balances cutting efficiency and surface quality — more wings produce a finer finish; fewer wings allow faster feed rates. Compatible with CNC routers using a 1/2-inch collet. Run at recommended feeds and speeds for MDF and particleboard to maximize cutter life and surface flatness.
