Description
The WC416ST is a carbide tipped spiral staggertooth cutter — 2-1/2 inches wide, 6 inches in height, 1-inch bore with a 1/4-inch x 1/8-inch keyway — designed for use on fence post cutting machines. Fence machines process round and dimensional fence posts, rails, and timbers through profile shaping, end-cut, or trim operations at high throughput. The spiral staggertooth design positions alternating teeth in a staggered spiral pattern around the cutter body: the spiral arrangement produces a shear cut that reduces cutting forces versus a straight-tooth cutter, and the staggered tooth height alternates the cutting depth to further reduce shock load and vibration during heavy cutting in dimensional lumber or rough timber. Carbide tipping provides the wear resistance needed for volume production in fence post material, which is often rough, resinous, or contaminated with surface grit. The 1/4-inch x 1/8-inch keyway in the 1-inch bore ensures positive drive registration. Custom sizes are available — contact Schmidt for pricing.
