Description

The CB189 is a set of rosette straight knives — 1-7/16 inches wide, 1-1/4 inches tall, 1/4 inch thick — sized for use in the 2-7/8-inch Schmidt rosette tool holder (AC818). Straight knives in a rosette holder are used to cut the flat base profile of the rosette block before the profiled knives cut the decorative pattern. In rosette cutter production, the rosette holder spins at low RPM while the workpiece is advanced into the cutter, and the knives shape the block to the outer dimension and flat shoulders of the rosette design before any pattern work begins. CB189 knives are the straight-cut version for the smallest (2-7/8-inch) holder in the Schmidt rosette system. For the 2-7/8-inch rosette holder body, see AC818.
