Crown moulding crowns a room where wall meets ceiling, and it's one of the most in-demand profiles in any trim shop. CGG Schmidt grinds crown knives in a broad library of traditional, colonial, and contemporary patterns, plus custom grinding to reproduce historic and one-off cornices.
Build the full cornice
Crowns are frequently stacked with bed, cove, and backout profiles to build a layered cornice, so matched grinding and the right back-relief are key. Our crown knives are ground in M2 high-speed steel as standard — durable and sharp across hardwoods and softwoods — with carbide for MDF and man-made stock. Supplied as matched sets for corrugated or flat-back heads. Have a profile to match? Send a sample or drawing.
