An astragal is the classic half-round bead flanked by fillets, used to seal a pair of doors or sash and as a refined decorative bead on trim and casework. CGG Schmidt grinds astragal profile knives in a range of bead sizes for shapers, moulders, and planer-moulders.

A crisp astragal lives or dies on edge quality, so our knives are ground from M2 high-speed steel for sharpness and wear resistance across hardwoods and softwoods, with carbide-tipped options for MDF.
