Description
The WC201 is a carbide-tipped lock-mitre cutter set — 4-3/4-inch diameter, 1-1/4-inch bore — in the STG-3 cutting geometry with C-3 grade carbide tips. Lock-mitre cutters produce a mitered corner joint with an interlocking tongue and groove element: the miter provides the 45-degree appearance at the corner while the tongue and groove provides mechanical alignment and glue surface area for a strong, self-jigging joint. Lock-mitre joints are used in box construction, frame-and-panel work, drawer boxes, and furniture carcasses where a mitered appearance with structural strength is required. The STG-3 designation indicates the specific lock-mitre profile geometry — the cutter runs in both horizontal and vertical orientations to machine the two mating halves of the joint. For the larger 5-1/4-inch version in DTG-3 geometry, see WC202.
