Description

The WC163 is a 6-wing carbide-tipped straight-top groover — 6-inch OD, 1/2-inch kerf width, and 1-1/4-inch bore. The 1/2-inch kerf in the high-mass 6-inch OD configuration handles wide groove applications in hardwood and sheet goods with the smoothest cut quality in the straight-top groover range: 1/2-inch plywood bottom panels, wide shelf dadoes in case furniture, and heavy T&G flooring profiles. Six wings at 6-inch OD produce a flat groove floor with minimal surface roughness. The extra mass compared to the 4-inch WC143 at the same kerf width reduces vibration and chatter on long runs and in denser hardwood species. For the 1/2-inch kerf in lighter 4-inch OD, see WC143.
