Description
Production shops running mixed materials on 14 in. sliding table saws need a blade configured for non-wood cutting. This 60-tooth triple chip grind blade handles aluminum extrusions, non-ferrous metal sheet, PVC trim board, solid surface, dense composite panel, and fiber cement on 1 in. arbor saws sized for 14 in. blades. Triple chip geometry uses alternating flat-topped trapper teeth and chamfered raker teeth to scrape rather than shear, preventing edge chipping and cracking in brittle materials where ATB geometry causes fracture. At 60 teeth on a 14 in. blade, gullet capacity is adequate for the chip volume produced when cutting plastic and composite materials at production feed rates. Carbide tips are ground to TCG geometry to handle abrasive materials through extended production use. The 1 in. bore fits the class of large sliding table saws and radial arm saws used in millwork production. Keeping a 14 in. TCG blade dedicated to non-wood cutting allows operators to transition between wood and composite or metal cutting on the same machine with a blade change rather than a separate dedicated machine.
